On August 26, it was reported that Christoph Hartmann, CEO of Amazon Games, expressed strong interest in Nintendo’s upcoming successor to the Switch. In a recent interview with IGN, Hartmann confirmed that Amazon Games intends to support the new console when it is released.
Earlier this year, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa announced that the successor to the Switch would be revealed in 2025.
Hartmann praised the original Switch, describing it as a “great device” and shared the studio’s enthusiasm for developing games for its successor. He also urged fans to be patient, stating that he prefers to wait for a perfect product rather than see a rushed release that could lead to dissatisfaction.
“Yeah, we obviously plan to develop games for it, and I can’t wait to see it come out. Honestly, I’d rather wait an extra year for them to make it perfect than rush it out to market and then we all complain about its shortcomings,”
Hartmann said.
Notably, Amazon Games has not previously released titles on the Nintendo Switch platform.
Currently, the company is working on games like “Blue Protocol” and “King of Meat,” the latter of which is planned for release on multiple platforms, including the Switch, though the release date remains undetermined.
