The scores indicate impressive improvements over the previous generation Ryzen 7 7800X3D, with a 20% increase in single-core performance and a 28% boost in multi-core performance.
This performance leap positions the Ryzen 7 9800X3D as a more well-rounded processor, not just optimized for gaming but also for general tasks, a shift from its predecessors which focused more heavily on gaming thanks to 3D V-Cache technology.
In addition to the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, a 16-core variant, also showed gains, with a 10% increase in single-core performance and a 17% increase in multi-core compared to the Ryzen 9 7950X3D.
These results suggest that AMD’s new X3D processors could close the gap in productivity tasks as well, with multi-core workloads benefiting significantly from the improvements in this new generation
