Right now from initial user reviews, it seems like the controls etc. for the game aren’t that great currently. The players have also complained about the slower tempo of the in-game music compared to the original release. Many users are also irked about the fact that the game requires you to create an account in order to play the single-player mode as well. There’s no PVP mode as well right now which may or may not come in the near future.
They have also released Doom 2 simultaneously yesterday. You can download it here. The pricing etc. is the same.
Here’s the official statement for Doom 2 for Android,
“Celebrate DOOM’s 25th anniversary with the re-release of DOOM II. This beloved sequel to the groundbreaking DOOM (1993) gave players the brutal Super Shotgun to bear against deadlier demons, and the infamous boss, the Icon of Sin.
The re-release of DOOM II includes:
– The Master Levels, 20 additional levels made by the community and supervised by the developers
To save Earth, you must descend into the depths of hell, survive demon hordes, and take part in the fiercest battle ever.”
