On September 18, According to a report EA unveiled two concept images of the upcoming “Battlefield” game during its investor conference.
The images feature helicopters and tanks, representing two distinct scenarios: “street fighting,” where sandbags and the ruins of buildings are visible, and “total war,” which showcases missile launches and offers a wider battlefield view.
The images also confirm that the game is a collaboration between four studios: DICE (multiplayer mode), Motive (single-player mode), Criterion (handling both single-player and multiplayer), and Ripple Effect (responsible for creating new content).
In an exclusive interview with IGN, Vince Zampella, General Manager of EA Studio Organization Group, confirmed that the next “Battlefield” game will launch in 2025. It will be set in a “modern warfare background,” featuring the return of the classic 64-player map, the removal of specialists, and the reintroduction of a career progression system.
In May, EA CEO Andrew Wilson mentioned during an earnings call that he had already experienced the upcoming Battlefield game being developed by EA DICE, expressing that he was “very excited” about the project.
According to previous reports by IT Home, a whistleblower hinted that the next Battlefield game will include a free-to-play battle royale mode, expected to launch between 2025 and 2030. This mode is being developed by Ripple Effect Studio (formerly DICE LA) and will be available independently, helping it gain traction in the battle royale market.
