On September 8, it was reported by Liam, an employee of GTABase.com, that the release of GTA 6 has been postponed to early to mid-2026 within Rockstar Games, with the PC version expected to launch 12-18 months after the console release.
This information reportedly comes from multiple developers across two studios.
Rockstar initially released the first trailer for GTA 6 in December 2023, announcing that the game would be launched in 2025 for platforms like PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
However, in May this year, the company updated the release window to “Autumn 2025” in its official financial report.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick stated, “We are very confident that Rockstar Games will deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience, and we expect the commercial impact of the work to continue to grow.”
Despite the postponement, Rockstar has not confirmed an exact release date for GTA 6, and fans will have to wait patiently for further updates.
