On April 16, 2024, we have received a significant update regarding Rockstar Games’ anticipated title, GTA6.
According to a leak on the social platform X by user @project_vice, the game’s development has reached its final phase.
This has led Rockstar to mandate that all staff return to the office from April 15 onwards to secure the development process and avoid leaks.
This decision follows a major leak in September 2022, where over 90 segments of GTA 6 were prematurely released online, causing significant financial and manpower losses to Rockstar.
Previously, Bloomberg had corroborated these details through an email from Rockstar’s distribution director, Jenn Kolbe.
Despite previous assurances from Rockstar that they would not enforce a full-time office return, the recent directive has not been well-received, as 170 UK employees had already petitioned last year against a three-day office work week.
Rockstar’s management has cut off remote office access and ceased all possibilities of working from home starting April 15, leading to considerable unrest among the employees. Rockstar has made no further comments regarding these changes.
The game, officially announced in November last year, is set to launch in 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.
The sequel will return players to the sunny streets of Vice City, with Rockstar promising to push the boundaries of open-world gaming.
