Qualcomm’s 8-Core Snapdragon X Plus “X1P-42-100” Chip Performance Exposed Ahead of Debut
On September 3, According reported that Qualcomm will attend the IFA 2024 conference in Berlin on September 4, where it is expected to unveil the 8-core Snapdragon X Plus chip.
Prior to its official launch, performance scores for the model “X1P-42-100” have been leaked.
I. Test Equipment
According to technology media WccFtech, the performance data comes from the ASUS ProArt PZ13 “HT5306QA_HT5306QA” laptop, which features the upcoming Qualcomm “X1P-42-100” 8-core CPU.
II. “X1P-42-100” Specifications
according to a report the “X1P-42-100” chip features 8 Oryon CPU cores built on 4nm technology, arranged in two clusters. One cluster operates at 3.24 GHz, while the other runs at 3.42 GHz.
The maximum single-core and multi-core boost clock frequencies are 3.4 GHz and 3.2 GHz, respectively. The CPU includes a total cache of 30 MB, with each cluster having 12 MB of L2 cache.
In terms of GPU, the Qualcomm “X1P-42-100” integrates an Adreno X1-45 chip clocked at 280 MHz, delivering 1.7 TFLOPs of computing power.
The ASUS laptop paired with this CPU uses LPDDR5X-8448 memory, and the NPU remains unchanged with a rated performance of 45 TOPS.
III. Performance
3.1 CPU Test
Cinebench 2024:
In the Cinebench 2024 test, the CPU scored 102 points in single-core and 649 points in multi-core performance.
For comparison, the 10-core Snapdragon X Plus model found in the Microsoft Surface scored 107 points in single-core and 809 points in multi-core tests.
Blender:
In Blender, the 8-core Snapdragon X Plus CPU completed the standard rendering test in 2 minutes, 3 seconds, and 48 milliseconds.
Geekbench 6:
In Geekbench 6, the multi-threaded test yielded scores of 2,422 and 11,386 points, respectively.
3.2 GPU Benchmark Test
In the 3DMark Time Spy test, the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus “X1P-42-100” with the Adreno X1-45 iGPU scored a total of 1,025 points, with the graphics processor achieving 916 points, and the CPU attaining 3,181 points.
